It‘s a Sunday afternoon and i‘m working on a few marketing ideas or my business shift next week.

The only real tool i‘m using is my trusty moleskine to nut out some sort of strategy of how i‘m going to proceed.

Although i‘m still in two minds about which way I intend to launch this new business the marketing is going to have to be spot on. I have done my research. There is need (so much so I already have on pre-sale to the idea) and a want for what I am working on, it‘s going to come down to getting the word out.

Not only have I had some great feedback about my impending drupal themestore (to be launched sometime this week) there has also been interest in freshpowder.

Unfortunately I have neglected it a little due to the amount of work I have on my plate but I intend to have a release very shortly.

Ok the “cat is out of the bag” so to speak. I’m focusing my attention on Drupal Themes. I’ve spent some time with Drupal and really love the power and flexibility, sorry WP.

Anyway the question is do I develop my themes store around my current Able Net Design or do I head down the route which I previously mentioned about a self marketed type theme store. This idea came from the fashion industry. Or do I work setup up a whole new site?

Setting up a whole new site was my original idea and of course there will be some changes to the Able Net Design website which ever option i choose.

I had a thought today and I want your feedback.

Probably the best personal branders out there would have to be fashion designers. They build their business around their name.

Can this work for the web industry and more importantly the premium theme market. Is it possible to build a company around my name as a drupal theme designer.

This is something I think i‘m going to test out and see what happens.

In the .info file the correct way to reference a parent theme is:

base theme = themename

Not the recommended “basetheme” or “folder name”.
