The problem with flavors.me

Flavors.me allows everyone to have a kind of home-base website. Where you can display your twitter, blogs, facebook, flickr etc… all in one styled place.

Here’s mine

The problem I see with it is once you have signed up, created your page (which is very easy), added your services, your done. You have no real reason to go back there. There isn’t away for people to comment on your content everything is still done through the external service sites.

On the web right now it’s all about building a community. How can you build that when you have no social interaction.

Just my thoughts on the matter. In saying all of that, I think its pretty cool how it’s so easy to have your self a functioning web page within a few minutes, pulling all your social content.

I have made provisions to include Flickr in the first release as well. Sometime you just want to show off some of your pics as a post. However I feel it could be of use, especially to photographers and other creates to have a gallery. Who doesn‘t have a flickr account?

No surprise

I woke up this morning knowing that my four images that I submitted to a stock photography site would either be accepted or declined.

I expected they would be declined. Turns out they were.

The best thing about it was the feedback I got explaining how I could improve the shots.

The images I submitted were probably over 12-24 months old so what I take these days would be of better quality (I would hope) compositionally etc..

Will it submit again?

Yes! However I‘m probably going to change my subject matter. I‘m interested in fashion photography, using natural light and locations. Not going to go down the studio route just yet.

Also since I‘m about to head off to Europe for my honeymoon, I‘m going to look into a bit of travel photography.
